The Carbon Creek difference is based on the proven adage that relationships drive results. The result at Carbon Creek Physical Therapy is a healthier, more educated and more mindful you.
One of the key elements in reaching these goals is one-on-one treatment time. At Carbon Creek, the only person you will see is your physical therapist. Whether it is manual therapy, education regarding your injury or learning new exercises to improve your strength or movement abilities, no one else will be treating you.
You will be seen for 50 to 55 minutes each time you have an appointment at Carbon Creek.
This allows us (you and me) to more fully learn about your injury – how it may affect your overall health, your goals for future physical activity, your past experience with injury or physical therapy and, in general, what motivates you to learn more about taking care of your body and reaching your goals.
Many people think of physical therapy as merely learning exercises. Though exercise is a critical component of treatment, more often there is also a mechanical, neuromuscular and/or motor control component underlying your condition. I bring 30 years of experience and fellowship-level training to bear in holistically addressing each person and each injury. My method of treatment begins with a thoughtful and consistent evaluation. This evaluation helps me to create a treatment plan that includes manual physical therapy, education about your injury and a comprehensive home exercise program. Exercise is only as useful as the appropriateness with which it is prescribed and the accuracy with which it is performed – you will not leave my care without an exercise program uniquely tailored to your needs. Some of you may have had physical therapy before that did not help you. Why should you try Carbon Creek Physical Therapy? Many physical therapists focus their attention solely on the area of pain. This may not be the most productive approach, especially for more longstanding conditions. Often there is a dysfunction in one area of the body that leads to increased stress or load on a distant, but related, structure. We will take the time to assess the body as a whole in order to locate and target the primary dysfunction driving your pain. This integrative and holistic approach can be more time-consuming initially, but ultimately it is a more lasting and successful approach.
There are several other unique aspects of being treated at Carbon Creek Physical Therapy that help create the Carbon Creek difference. One is that, with the exception of Medicare, health insurance coverage is billed by the patient. Every patient wishing to bill their insurance plan will receive all the documentation needed to do that! This frees me from the need to generate the volume and income necessary to cover the costs of dealing with insurance companies – each patient receives 100% of my attention and time.
